Our mission is to accelerate the commercialization of technology innovation activities to create jobs in the Pittsburgh region, particularly in the City of
Pittsburgh’s underserved neighborhoods.
We support this mission by:
Creating an online clearinghouse of services, programs and financing available to entrepreneurs in the region.
Connecting entrepreneurs with each other in order to share ideas and talents.
Disseminating relevant information about current and up-coming innovation opportunities.
PGH Lab is a pilot program designed to connect local startup companies with the City of Pittsburgh. Through PGH Lab, local startup companies can test their products and services and help the City meet complex challenges for a limited engagement of three months.
STEEL CITY CODEFEST
Steel City Codefest is a civic software application (app) development competition designed to grow the City’s innovation and technology community through the creation of technology infrastructure. The citywide, 24-hour Civic Hackathon brings together coders, designers and community members to create technology that benefits nonprofits and government agencies around the region. Participants form teams, tackle challenges and compete for prizes.

Project Connect promotes new technologies and facilitates connections between startups and established companies in the region.
